The Le Bonheur office decided it’s time for us to lose some weight. We started our own “Biggest Loser” competition, and three weeks into the competition, we’re already feeling healthier. In fact, the 14 competitors have already lost a combined total of 67 pounds!
It’s hard to lose weight on your own, so that’s why we’re doing it together. We don’t have personal trainers or 24 hours a day to exercise like the contestants on TV do, but we’re all making changes in our lifestyle. Exercise is a big component of losing weight and getting healthier, so some people are walking more, and others are doing exercise videos.
Nutrition is the other area where we can all improve. Everyone is following their own plan, but the idea is “fewer calories in, more calories out” We try to share weekly weight loss tips and help each other out. We have a home health agency that brings us donuts once a week. Now, at the end of the day, the box of donuts is still there! Last week they brought donuts and a bunch of bananas because of our weight loss competition.
The competition ends on October 31st. All the participants paid a $10 entry fee, plus the corporation matched the pot! The winner takes all, but we are measuring % weight loss to even the playing field. Make sure to cheer on all the employees at the downtown office!
